Abstract: In today’s era, vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of death due to a lack of attention and help in time, poor emergency facilities, and people lose their lives. Highways are highly vulnerable to accidents, and many times, accident victims are left unattended. Several times, accidents go unnoticed due to low traffic or careless trespassers. The streetlight discussed in the paper is an automated system that monitors the street throughout the day and night. In the event of an accident, the streetlight will be able to generate an alarm and alert the relevant authority. It simply observes the stay time of a vehicle in a predecided patch of road. In the event of any delay, the streetlight will notify the concerned team accordingly. If an issue arises, the location is sent to the rescue team with the help of a GSM module. The authors are also trying to reduce power consumption whenever there is no vehicle movement on the road. The streetlight will glow with high intensity when a vehicle is on the road; otherwise, it will be dim.
