Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of major satisfaction on the social support of nursing students and stress coping. Methods/Statistical analysis: 135 male and female nursing college students using convenience sampling. The tools used were social support tool, modified and supplemented by Park and K-CSI(Korean Version of Stress Coping Strategy) developed by Amirkhan and Ha Hae Sook’s major satisfaction tool. Data were analyzed using Pearson coefficient correlation and multiple regression analysis using SPSS23. Findings: Social support and stress coping showed a somewhat higher correlation coefficient of .519 and the higher the social support, the higher the stress coping ability. Also, stress coping and majors’ satisfaction were also correlated with a somewhat higher correlation coefficient of .576. In the relationship between stressors coping with social support, major satisfaction was found to have a moderating effect. In other words, R2 is increasing at 51.9% in Model 1, 53.1% in Model 2, and 56.6% in Model 3. The significance level of the third stage was .007 (p <.01), indicating that the major satisfaction was moderating in the relationship between perceived social support and stress coping by the nursing college students. Improvements/Applications: Therefore, to improve the stress coping ability of nursing college students, it is necessary to prepare a plan to improve the social support and improve the satisfaction of the majors.
