Abstract: It is proved that decrease in material capacity of machines and power consumption of irrigation, in particular, of IM Kuban-LK1, is the important direction of increase in economic efficiency of agro-industrial complex as economical expenditure of energy and material resources provides an increase in the output and decrease in prime cost, both for technological means of irrigation, and crop harvesting. At the same time, the equipment – economic indicators of irrigation machines are defined by their constructive and operational characteristics depending on key parameters of machines and on service conditions. The most important of them are productivity and power consumption. The conducted researches IM allowed to establish that decrease in its productivity, often, happens because of the reduction of change working hours efficiency (Kcm). Its decrease is indicated by losses of basic passability of carts of the machines in places on the low bearing ability of the soil (because of the increased rutting) and when overcoming rises (because of insufficient coupling properties of running systems, or drive power). It is proved that expedient to carry out the most objective assessment of growth of the technological level of the KubanLK1 IM running systems on the generalized efficiency indicator the propeller determining optimum parameters wheel proceeding from the highest indicators of power costs of movement and material capacities.

Examination of Adulteration of Edible Oils at the Wavelength of 660nm using a U–Shaped Sensing Element Based Extrinsic Fiber Optic Sensor

Abstract: Edible oils such as groundnut oil and coconut oil etc, play a vital role in a consumer applications. These oils are used as compulsory ingredient in almost all culinary items large scale in the major part of the world. Therefore the study of purity of these oils becomes essential in order to maintain good health and hygiene of the consumers across the world. A novel approach has been adopted to develop an advanced fiber optic sensor to study the adulteration of coconut and groundnut oils more accurately by using U–shaped glass element based extrinsic fiber optic sensor in the present work. A U–shaped glass rod having specific geometrical parameters is used as an extrinsic sensing probe, which is connected in between a source operating at the wavelength of 660nm and an optical power detector by using two PCS fibers of 200/230µm. For the study of adulteration of edible oils two cheap oils i.e., paraffin oil and palm oil have been selected and mixed at different ratios and are introduced into the sensing region one after the other. A gradual decrease in the optical output power has been observed in the output detector, when the mixtures with increased cheap oil introduced around the sensing element. Thus, a relationship can be formed between the powers observed at output to the amount of cheap oil mixed in pure oils. Calibrated curve can be drawn between power reaching at the output end of the sensor and refractive index of the mixtures of pure oils adulterated with cheap oils, which can be used to measure the unknown amount of cheap oil in pure edible oil at room temperature accuracy of 10–5 .

Agency Problems and Corporate Governance Mechanisms in Indian Companies

Abstract: This research paper empirically examines the nature of relationship between agency cost and corporate governance mechanisms, and discusses the various internal and external corporate governance mechanisms that introduced to mitigate the agency problems in Indian companies. The descriptive statistics show that Indian companies are gradually moving towards compliance to the governance mechanisms. This research paper has utilized two alternative proxies for agency cost, Tobin’s Q and Free Cash Flow (FCF). The regression results on the proxy of agency cost (TOBIN’S Q) establish that the governance mechanisms are not viable corporate governance mechanisms. However, the findings prove that leverage and shareholders’ committees are the specific governance mechanisms, which mitigate the agency problems.

Madrasas and Recruitment of Child Soldiers: The Scenario in Afghanistan

Abstract: This study focuses on the role of religious seminaries known as madrassas in Afghanistan in recruitment and use of child soldiers, since there is significant amount of credible research indicating the correlation between madrassas and child soldiering. The study also delves into the legal position of international and national legal regimes as well as Islamic legal standards on the issue of child soldiering. The research primarily relies on doctrinal method in sections where main sources of the national and international legislations are studied, and non-doctrinal, qualitative analysis of primary and secondary sources relevant to the topic. In addition to this, textual analysis of primary sources of Islamic law and legal rulings and justification for legal rulings by the authoritative figures of armed groups involved in recruitment of underage combatants for combat in Afghanistan is utilized. The research uses comparison between the international and national legal regimes on the one side and Islamic legal standards on the other side to ascertain similarities and differences. The study has found the three legal regimes under investigation have almost identical view pertaining to the lower age limit for the conscription of soldiers. As a result, the study has also established that many more underage students were recruited and used in hostilities in the armed conflict in Afghanistan during the last twenty years of the 20th century than it has been the case in the 21st century up to the present.

Abstract: The employment relationship at common law is contractual where the employer may end the employment relationship by giving notice of termination and without assigning reasons. But where the employee had committed gross misconduct such as immorality at the workplace, insolence, insubordination or other criminal conduct, the employer may summarily and without notice dismiss the worker. The only requirement for the employer to establish is that the worker has been guilty of gross misconduct which renders the further continuation of the employment relationship impossible. The burden of proving misconduct justifying summary dismissal is on the employer on the balance of probabilities. As from the above, the term ‘termination’ of service and a ‘dismissal’ have different connotations.

Examining the impact of MnO2 and CeO2 on Mechanical Properties, Degradability, and the Microstructure of Zirconia

Abstract: The effect of CeO2 and MnO2 additions (up to 1 wt%) on the sintering behaviour of yttria-stabilized zirconia sintered from 1250ºC to 1450ºC was investigated. From the findings, mechanical properties are likely to improve via the addition of 0.2 wt% CeO2 and 0.8 wt% MnO2 with Y-TZP. This composition increased the density of Y-TZP. The value of density achieved was about 6.04 g/cm3, approximately 98% of the theoretical density of Y-TZP. The mechanical properties (i.e. hardness and strength) of the material were significantly increased as well. Besides that, the 0.2 wt% CeO2 and 0.8 wt% MnO2 composite displayed higher elasticity of 211 GPa compared to pure Y-TZP with a theoretical value of 200 GPa. Sintering over 1450 ºC is expected to degenerate the composite’s physical and mechanical properties. Sintering at higher temperatures (>1350 °C) would affect the properties of the composite, due to a bigger grain size obtained at high temperature.

Abstract: Cloud computing is considered to be one of the most significant and influential topics in the field of computing sciences. With time, cloud computing has paved its way in almost every aspect of human life. With the significant hike in number of users and service provider in the cloud environment, attackers are also increasing malicious activities in this area. Due to criticality in the area of the cloud computing, it is necessary that cloud environment should be safe . The concept of Cloud forensics has been introduced to establish a well-defined forensic capability in cloud environment. Although a lot of work has been carried out in the area of cloud forensic challenges and solutions, but the research on its frameworks and methodologies is still to be explored. The major challenge lies in providing a framework for analysis of massive amounts of forensic data in limited period. As proposed by many researchers, one of the best solutions for such analysis is the use of machine learning methods. This paper provides the study on the methodological aspect of cloud forensic analysis using various machine learning approaches. It gives a critical review of existing cloud forensic methodologies making use of machine learning for investigation of security related incidents in cloud. Furthermore, it provides a comprehensive study and comparison of existing frameworks using machine learning for digital and cloud forensic analysis, their drawbacks and scope for novel future research directions in thisarea.
