Abstract: Relevance of cloud has been increasing since the inception of internet, cloud has been one of the promising technologies which provide services over the internet .There are various cloud providers, Multiple clients need cloud resources over the internet. Clients have multiple option to choose among various cloud providers. Thus cloud providers aim to provide a cost minimal product which can be achieved via The utilization of resources should be scheduled efficiently properly in order to make the cloud system work efficiently. Cloud data center are assigned resources with the help of virtual machine scheduling and simultaneously request for resources has become an problem to address this problem improving the system performance by impacting the cost and scheduling technique VM are needed. In this paper we propose a hybrid resource utilization strategy known as cuckoo-Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO).

Abstract: The Today’s digital world, data generation is growing at a rapid rate, almost doubling every two years. The extensive growth in the digital devices generates and consumes enormous data. In the field of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning provides a paradigm to recognize hid-den patterns in the data to perform useful inference using those patterns that have been learned. Clustering or cluster analysis is one of the most essential and important unsupervised learning technique. Clustering is a technique of natural grouping of data objects which are unlabeled and it forms these grouping in such a way that data objects belonging to one cluster are not similar to the objects belonging to another cluster. In this paper, different clustering approaches and techniques used in unsupervised learning are discussed. Also, four major clustering algorithms namely k-means, EM, hierarchical and make density based are applied on different datasets and their performance is analyzed by using certain parameters.

Modified K-Means and Symbolic Representation in Kannada Character Recognition

Abstract: This paper describes an OCR system for printed text documents in Kannada, a South Indian language. Many commercial OCR systems are now available in the market, but most of these systems work for Roman, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic characters. There are no sufficient number of works on Indian language charac-ter recognition especially Kannada. In this work we proposed kannada character recognition system using texture features. Here we fuse the texture features like Local Binary Pattern, and Gray Level Local Texture Pattern using concatenation rule and the texture fea- tures are represented using symbolic representation. Finally, Weighted K-means is explored for the purpose of clustering. This method is simple to implement and realize, also it is computationally efficient.

Abstract: In this paper we discuss about in current scenario what challenges faced by the Human Resource Departments. Human Resource Management (HRM) is designed to the company’s operations to maximized employee performance in order to meet the employer’s strategic goals and objectives. HRM focuses on management of people with companies, emphasizing on policies and systems. Today era HRM consider the more vital and strategic role, addressing these issues and solving the employees and organization’s particulars problems in less consuming time. In coming Scenario HR Departments will be facing challenges in the coming few years. HR Departments consider as a employee’s “valuable assets” of the organizations. So employees fully concentrate on work as a result full utilization of resources in minimum cost and maximum profit in less consuming time in production.

Role of Spiritual Intelligence in Leadership Roles with Special Reference to Educational Institutions

Abstract: Spiritual intelligence is a higher dimension of intelligence that activates the qualities and capabilities of the authentic self, in the form of wisdom, compassion, integrity, joy, love, creativity, and peace. Consequently, spiritual intelligence is the means of personal and professional success and fulfilment. With development in the educational industry observed in the past two decades, Spiritual intelligence has made its prominent existence with improvements in a wide range of important life skills and work skills. When leadership roles are combined with Spiritual Intelligence, it is named a Spiritual Leadership. Spiritual leadership involves the application of spiritual values and principles to the workplace. A spiritual leader understands the importance of employees finding meaning in their work and demonstrates a genuine concern for the “whole” person, not just the employee. In this paper, we shall try to analyse the importance of Spiritual Leadership in educational institutes and how it helps to enhance the Work Systems of a school. The paper analyses a model school ‘Kasturbatai Convent’ where the Principal has adopted and implemented Spiritual Leadership and analyse its impact on the school’s productivity. Need for the Study Research on the impact of leadership styles on employee job satisfaction is abundant. But, there is little attention given to the research on the impact of spiritual leadership, specifically, to the employee job satisfaction. This study attempts to provide a framework on the relationship between spiritual leadership variables, quality of work life and organizational performance in a multidimensional approach and hopeful to fill the knowledge gap and enrich the body of knowledge in the spiritual leadership theory. The study is done with reference to Educational Institutes and emphasis shall be given on various methods to be adopted by Principles and Leaders of educational institutions to ensure that Spiritual Leadership is practiced effectively in educational institutions.

Textural Features and Feature Selection in KAN-NADA Character Recognition

Abstract: This paper describes an OCR system for printed text documents in Kannada, a South Indian language. Many commercial OCR systems are now available in the market, but most of these systems work for Roman, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic characters. There are no sufficient number of works on Indian language character recognition especially Kannada. In this work we proposed kannada character recognition system using texture features. Here we fuse the texture features like Local Binary Pattern, Local Binary Pattern Variance, Gray Level Local Texture Pattern, Gabor Filter Response and Wavelet Decomposition using concatenation rule and select discriminative texture features by employing wrapper feature selection methods. Finally, K-NN classifier is explored for the purpose of classification. In addition, we also explore the K-NN classifier with different distance functions. This method is simple to implement and realize, also it is computationally efficient.

Bankruptcy Prediction Models: An Empirical Comparison

Abstract: The study is intended to evaluate the significance of bankruptcy prediction models. The corporate bankruptcy prediction is an ongoing area of interest in the recent past for which efforts are put to compare five bankruptcy models named Springate, Ohlson, Zmijewski, Grover and Altman. The aim of this research is to identify the best model fit for bankruptcy prediction through comparative analysis in empirical application. Approach-Through an extensive literature review, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the methodologies and empirical findings from these models in their applications across different bankrupted or likely to be bankrupted companies. Findings-Our empirical findings on the comparison between the bankruptcy prediction models suggests the investor that they might choose any significant model to analyze the companies performances but the Springate and Zmijewski models are found to be the best models which gives early predictions and can be used to avoid the loss for investing money in bankrupted companies. Originality- It is anticipated that this study will be the most extensive to-date review in this field of literature. This paper shed light on the problem of model choice in empirical bankruptcy prediction of corporates and suggesting some directions and scope for future research.

Desalination of Water Using Double Slope Double Basin Solar Still Coupled With Evacuated Tubes

Abstract: Water temperature and glass temperature are the quantities which give productivity of a solar-still. This paper deals with a study done on a double-slop, double -basin solar-still directly connected with evacuated tubes, where in productivity is increased upon reduction of heat loss. Eight double-walled hard borosilicate glass tubes have been used. The experiments were conducted on the still only during sunlight hours from 9 am to 5 pm; and by using tap water as feed. Results obtained were plotted and laboratory results of chemical composition of water given as input and collected from the basin were found out.
